The Seminar of Online Technology fo Pharmaceutical Manufacturing |
| TREK held a seminar on May 21st 2009 in Shanghai successfully. The seminar focused on the title, ¡®A Solution to FDA Higher Requirements, Realize PAT Control Based On On-line Particle Size Monitoring¡¯. Many experts attended it, from Manufactures in Zhangjiang Pharma Valley, Central Research Institute of Shanghai Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Sine Wanxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry(SIPI). During the meeting, Dr. Zhao Yan from SIPI and Mr. Oliver Schmitt from Malvern introduced quality control of Nano-medicine and case studies of on line particle size analysis in pharmaceutical industry respectively. The meeting proceeded in a warm atmosphere and ends with a flourish. |

USP give guidance on Acoustic Emission Monitoring |
The United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) has published, this year, a general chapter giving guidance on the use of acoustic emission in the pharmaceutical industry (2008 General Chapter, 1005 Acoustic Emission.)
This outlines the principles of passive acoustic emission monitoring, instrumentation, signal processing, data analysis, and validation of acoustic emission systems with specific reference to monitoring the performance of granulators.
Factors affecting acoustic emission measurements are also discussed. These include: sensor failure, sensor interfacing, mechanical noise and the influence of the vessel wall. |
